Production at a large-scale surface mine does not slow down for dust. The haul trucks run their cycles, the benches move, and the water truck has to keep pace or the dust inspector shuts things down. The Komatsu HM400 is the machine that keeps pace at a large mine: a 40-metric-ton articulated hauler that in water truck service carries roughly 20,000 to 25,000 liters per load, enough to cover long haul roads in a reasonable number of passes without constant trips to the standpipe.
The HM400 is Komatsu's largest current-production articulated hauler and one of the highest-capacity machines in the articulated water truck category. It sits in direct competition with the Cat 745 and Volvo A40 at the top of the articulated tanker market. Where Komatsu has strong dealer presence, particularly in coal country and the central mining states, many operators prefer the HM400 because the parts network and service support are already established in their region.
We finance the HM400 from $50,000 on up, though most HM400 water truck deals run well above that floor. B and C credit is not a dead end. Three months of bank statements gives us what we need to look at the deal honestly. Most funded HM400 deals close in one to two weeks. If you have found the machine and the job is waiting, send us the details and we get moving.
The current Komatsu HM400 runs a Komatsu SAA6D170E-7 engine producing approximately 476 horsepower, giving it the power to maintain speed on steep haul-road grades under full water load. The drivetrain is six-speed automatic with all-wheel drive and Komatsu's electronic diff-lock control, which automatically engages when slippage is detected.
